Yahoo! News - Secret Bush Tapes Given to White House

Feeling a little guilty? I don’t think so. My take is that this was just one more way for the Bush guys to pull the wool. I think that Bush knew exactly what was going on. I think he encouraged it. What better way to get on the good side of the youngsters than to come out looking like one.

I think that it’s awesome that Bush smoked some wacky weed, sure. But that doesn’t mean that I think he’s a good guy. I don’t believe all this shit about him just being “regular” folk. I think the release of this tape was supposed to support that image. Didn’t work with me.

Bush has divided our country in ways that haven’t been seen in my lifetime. Granted I’m all of 31 years old, but this is crazy. It’s not possible anymore to have differing political idealology and still be friends with someone. It’s hard to not get heated when discussing the U.S. political as it is today. “You’re either with us or against us” is the new Republican mantra. And there are too many people taking that up as their own too.

Why is hard to be in the middle? Why does it have to be this side or that side? Because that’s how the Bush administration gets their power. That’s how they stayed in power. That’s how they justify this damned war. Very few people see this. And if they do see it they tend to ignore it.
