Images of war

I am opposed to the war in Iraq. I believe that we shouldn’t be over there at all, not even to bring them puppet elections. I think that our presence in that area of the world will ultimately do more harm than good. However, there are some things that I think must be mentioned about some of the Iraqi people.

They have murderers among them too. It’s not only Coalition Forces that are causing damage in that region. These crazy bastards with their car bombs are killing their own people to make some kind of point. I’ve forgotten for a while what the innocent Iraqi’s were up against. Now I’m reminded and my blood is boiling.

“I am 100% against the war in Iraq. I don’t believe any of the bullshit reasons the gov’t is feeding us for being there. But this post is disgusting.

Why? Well, I’m sure you don’t care, but I’ll lay it out anyway. How do you know that those children were injured/killed by Coalition forces? Has it occurred to anyone that maybe they were made casualties by their own insane countrymen? Call the “freedom fighters” or whatever you want, but they are targeting innocent children. They get in their rusty little cars filled with deadly bombs and run them into areas congested with innocent people. Put the blame on them for those children. Our military is not fully responsible for that. Blame the crazy suicide bombers. They aren’t hurting our people as much as they’re hurting their own and these pictures prove that.

It’s not bad enough that the innocent Iraqis are being exploited by one side, as living reasons to stay in Iraq, but here’s the other side exploiting them maimed/dead. That is disgusting and sad. It is one thing to remember and honor the murdered, it’s quite another to use their images for a political agenda. They and their parents are genuinely suffering while we sit in front of our computers looking at it and bickering about it. It’s appalling.

These people go from bad to worse and back again. And our presence over there isn’t helping matters at all. But there are those that do worse damage to the Iraqi people than we have ever done and those are the ones using bombs to blow up any target that suits their fancy—the Islamic militants. Why is there no anger directed at them for the atrocities they are committing?

I can only pray that the gods can bring solace to the mothers of those children. And hope that those mothers never have to see images of their children used in such an inexcusable way.

I know I’m going to get blasted by the original poster, but I don’t care. This kind of thing is bullshit politics. There was no reason to include those pictures of those children. There was no reason to post those pictures in that obscure little world of WWW anyway. Very few people go there to post/read. If this guy was trying to make a point, why not put up a website and direct people to it? He likes to think he’s king fish on Bnet Politics board. He needs to find something better to do than to try to bring a couple of people onto his side. There are less than 10 people who post on that board– and I’m pretty sure that some of those people are using more than one screen name–and trying to make that kind of statement there is just ridiculous.

I don’t think that he has anything better to do anyway. I’ve ten dollars that says those pictures are hijacked without permission. I was on the verge of having some kind of respect for this guy, but have since decided no. His tactics are just as bad as the right wing tactic of using God to justify their agenda. “Look at these dead kids. Doesn’t that make you mad?” Sure does. At the people that killed those kids. THE GODDAMNED MILITANT ISLAMICS!! THE CAR BOMBERS!

I have seen my only son die of natural causes and am still haunted by that memory. My heart goes out to those mothers that have witnessed their children murdered in this stupid war by those stupid religious fanatics. Some would call them freedom fighters because they have a right to defend their homeland against invaders. I have called them freedom fighters myself. My tune has changed. I now call them cowardly bastards. Lowlife villains who take the lives of their own people only to get some attention. To me they are no better than the man who used to lead them.

I pray that the gods punish them accordingly. I also pray that the gods punish those that would exploit the living and dead children of Iraq for their own gain. No matter what that gain is. I pray that the gods bring some kind of peace to those mothers, be it freedom or death.

I do believe that those pictures have changed my mind about a lot of things, least of all my respect for the original poster. I hope the gods will soon bring peace to all of us.
