Movie Majick

I’ve been looking at my old bookmarks and found some of the old pagan websites/ forums that I used to visit. Most of them I find to be truly interesting, otherwise I wouldn’t have them in my bookmarks. But today I found the question of “movie magick” (I hate that spelling). It was generally a question of who believed in it.

It is absolutely hilarious to me that there are people who still think that they can disappear/reappear at will, that they can make it rain/not rain. That they can make people disappear in a puff of smoke. And then they expect others to believe that too! This is beyond ridiculous to me.

I believe in the power of magic, sure. I believe that there are certain forces that can be influenced by magic and that magic can be used for special purposes, like locating a lost object. But do I believe that I can walk on water if I wish hard enough? No. I think that would just be delusional and I would have to take a vacation at the funny farm. I think that theatrical magic is not magic in the sense that Pagans seem to use it and that Criss Angel does illusions, not mystical magic. Give me a break.

The sad thing is that on this particular board, no one seemed to call the poster on their idiocy. I get so frustrated with all the “it’s a valid belief” crap. You cannot make me disappear in a puff of smoke—unless you shoot me with a flame thrower.
