The Columbus Dispatch - Election
I just came upon this story while surfing other blogs. I find it interesting that J.Kenneth Blackwell has been so seriously endorsed by these two religious organizations, with much proof thereof, and yet they say that they give no specific endorsement. The most interesting part of this article is the picture. Ken Blackwell lapping it up with ministers.
That they called those opposed to their pairing “secular jihadists” is laughable. Because these 31 religious leaders cannot be bullied by Blackwell or his posse then they must be the same as Al-Qaida…lol. Worse, they were called Nazis because they want these organizers to lose their tax-exemption for blatantly breaking the law.
I am no supporter of Blackwell. I think he is a liar and a manipulator. I blame him sole for Ohio giving Bush the election. But I fear that his election is already bought and paid for. The national GOP will remember his help when it comes to the elections this November. Ohio is lost to the democracy that is the U.S. And sadly that bodes ill for the rest of the country. If it can happen here it can happen anywhere.
I believe that the people of Ohio are being held under by the weight of joblessness and legislative gerrymandering. They no longer have the will to go against what is being beat into their heads. Partly to blame for that are these “activist ministers”. How many Sundays do people have to hear “George Bush is the choice of God?” before they start to believe it?
I can only hope that these two groups will be punished for their obvious political bias. And with that create fear for the other churches that push their political agenda onto their congregations. I have no faith in the people of Ohio to have enough backbone to fight back on their own. Or make their own choices. I have no faith at all.
