I just received an interesting phone call. It was an automated poll, from whom I have no idea.
callbot: Congressman Bob Ney supports President Bush’s policy of illegally spying on Americans without warrants. Do you support President Bush? Push one for “yes” and two for “no”.
Me pushing two (of course).
callbot: Congressman Bob Ney has recently announced he will run for reelection. Will you vote for Congressman Boy Ney? Push one for “yes” and two for “no”.
Me pushing two (duh) immediately followed by me hanging up.
I’m just now curious as to who was sponsoring that call. At first I thought it was Bob Ney trying to see who supported him (hi, fog!), but then realized there were two key words to tell me that answer. “Illegally” and “without”. So, it was someone that I would obviously support (meaning anyone who doesn’t look favorably on the president’s abuse of the Constitution or law). At any rate they have my answer and will no doubt use it in the campaign this year and I’m all for it. I’m sorry, though, that I didn’t wait to see who was calling. That way I could send them some money.
