By a margin of 11-4 the Ohio State Board of Education eliminated wording in the science curriculum that would “open the door to the teaching of intelligent designâ€. Of course, those that want that passage to remain say that taking it away is denying students of a “choice in educationâ€. A choice? How is evolution v. ID making a choice of science? So does that mean that if I choose to believe that 2+2= 5 then my calculations are correct? Hmmm… Does that mean that if I choose to believe that I’m not infected with a cold virus I will suddenly be cured?
Well, I think that if they want to teach a theory of intelligent design then they should hear my theory too.
Once upon a time in a galaxy far away a god, Amon, became bored with his other godly companions. So he chose to create children for himself- Set and Isis. Well, Set and Isis played together and grew up, eventually having a child- Horus. But this was boring to the two children. So they decided to experiment. Isis spit out a planet of lava, dirt, and water. Then Set brewed tea and made DNA. They took this DNA and split it into two groups- plant and animal. Then they set it on the Earth and waited to see what happened. Eventually this DNA developed into various plants and animals, all of which were hilarious to the gods because they were pretty stupid. Soon Isis felt sorry for the brainless globs on Earth and gave them challenges to help their DNA develop. In no time the small globs grew huge and evolution had begun. Unfortunately for them their experiment got out of control and here we are today.
You know the rest of the story- dinosaurs and all that. Isn’t it interesting? I think it’s a lot more plausible than their version. I mean really, creating the world in 7 days? And why did he create it? Doesn’t matter.
Luckily for everyone who thinks my theory is full of crap can rest peacefully. I won’t be going to the ACLU for help in demanding that Ohio schools teach what I believe happened. Your children are safe– for now.
