US launches drive to plug leaks: Washington Post - Yahoo! News

They sit on their hands wondering what to do about the president breaking the law and how they can help the ol’ boy out of this pickle. Then GW says “Well, distract them by seeking and destroying those bastards who told on me!”. That, of course, will take the focus off the real criminal while giving his supporters someone/thing to lampoon for bringing this heat on Herr Leader.

The Bush administration has launched several investigations to discourage government employees from leaking classified information to news reporters, The Washington Post reported in its Sunday edition.

FBI agents have interviewed dozens of employees at the
CIA, the National Security Agency and other intelligence agencies in recent weeks as they investigate possible leaks that led to reports about the NSA’s domestic spying program and secret CIA prisons in Eastern Europe, the Post said.

Employees at the FBI, the CIA, the Justice Department and other agencies have also received Justice Department letters prohibiting them from discussing the NSA program, the Post said, citing anonymous sources.

Here’s the rub for the gov’t, there are still those willing to risk the gulag by telling that they’re not allowed to tell.

I would suggest to this administration that it start indoctrinating our young to discourage them from questioning the gov’t. It’s too late for us older folks. Most of us still believe they are accountable to us and shouldn’t be breaking laws to keep us in control. We’ve been raised to believe the president is not king and has to go when his time is up. If they start working on our kids now, then maybe in 20 or 30 years their power grab may be a little less noticed. And their employees won’t be so anxious to stop the insanity.

They say that this is “the most extensive anti-leak campaign since the Nixon administration”. Maybe that’s because this is the most criminal administration since Nixon’s. Why don’t they just come out and say it? Or is it now a crime to call the president anything but “dear leader”? Quit hiding behind nice words and get these folks fired up!
