South Dakota has thrown down the gauntlet officially by making all abortions illegal within it’s borders.
PIERRE, S.D. — Gov. Mike Rounds signed legislation Monday banning nearly all abortions in South Dakota, setting up a court fight aimed at challenging the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion.
The bill would make it a crime for doctors to perform an abortion unless the procedure was necessary to save the woman’s life. It would make no exception for cases of rape or incest.
It seems that S.D. doesn’t want to be famous for just…(um what are the famous for?) anymore. Now they want to be the frontlines in the War on Women. But, of course, we knew that, didn’t we? Nothing surprising about Rounds signing that bill. Now it comes time for Planned Parenthood to take up arms(once again) to defend a woman’s womb against invasion by hypocritical wingers. Because of that, Rounds doesn’t expect this law to go into effect for years.
Rounds issued a written statement saying he expects the law will be tied up in court for years and will not take effect unless the U.S. Supreme Court upholds it.
“In the history of the world, the true test of a civilization is how well people treat the most vulnerable and most helpless in their society. The sponsors and supporters of this bill believe that abortion is wrong because unborn children are the most vulnerable and most helpless persons in our society. I agree with them,” Rounds said in the statement.
Hey, Rounds, did you forget about the actual poor living innocents in your state? Damn! I keep forgetting that the babies don’t count after they’re actually born.
The national average poverty rate was 12.1%. The same Census Bureau report says the estimated median household income in South Dakota was $39,829, again, a three-year average from 2001-2003. South Dakota ranks 36th among the states.
The average income from 2002-2003 was just over two percentage points lower than the average from the previous two-year period. Also, 11% of South Dakotans were without health insurance in 2001-2003, which ranked the state 18th best in the nation.

What you don’t remember, you o’ warriors against women? Maybe you should be giving the same attention to the born as you do the unborn, hm? Let’s look at some examples of which I speak.
