Gratuitous Blog Mad Post

Ok, here’s the seemingly mandatory Blog Mad post.
Blog Mad is a traffic exchange site, for those that don’t know. You join up surf some blogs to earn credits and those credits put your blog in rotation so that others can stop by. You have to hang out for a minimum of 30 seconds then push a number to move on to the next blog.

I’ve had a lot of views according to my profile. But no one stays longer than the required 30 seconds, according to my site meter. I guess most surfers don’t really spend too much time reading the blogs, they’re in too much of a hurry to move on and earn their credits.

I’ve actually come across some pretty interesting blogs. But the most interesting thing I’ve seen so far is that Blog Mad has somehow started a blog war. What’s happened is that a couple of bloggers have put critiques in their gratuitous Blog Mad post- saying things like “Don’t have a black background with white letters as your template!” and “Political blogs suck!” I actually enjoyed reading those posts because it gave me some insight into what other people would actually read. I didn’t see any particular blogs mentioned, these “advisements” were pretty much general in nature. Or so I thought. Seems that other bloggers took these critiques personally and blasted the critics, calling them “blog snobs”. Heh! Thus began the blog wars. Very, very comical, in my opinion. If I come across them again I’ll link to the ones involved. It’s good for a laugh anyway.

Now, I was ranked 8.33[1] and have since learned I have dropped to 5.67. How could that happen, especially since there aren’t any Blog Mad surfers that actively[2] visit my site? Well, seems that there are quite a few surfers that absolutely hate political (and religious) blogs. One said in a post “I hate people that think they can do a better job ruling the world.” Isn’t that nice? I don’t want to critique anyone’s content, but really…I don’t care what you had for breakfast this morning.[3]

A note to those of you that are American and hate political blogs. Your country is being overrun by a band of criminals (aka the Bush administration). They are trying to take away some of your most basic rights and do away with the Constitution. You won’t learn the whole truth in the MSM (they count on the fact that Americans have such short memories). So, you can dislike blogs like mine, but be thankful someone- anyone- is keeping an eye on things and when you do start to care you’ll have somewhere to come to get the information. I used to find important stuff tedious, too, until I found out my president was breaking the law by spying on American citizens.

Of course, there are quite a lot of conservatives surfing Blog Mad. I’m sure they don’t like my blog. I just want to remind them that it’s Conservative Amnesty Month and we want you back in the real world. Where’s the love?

That’s it for my gratuitous post. Now back to your regular scheduled Bush bashing.

[1] On a scale from 1-10, how do you get an 8.33?
[2] Meaning sticking around and reading what I have to say.
[3] Don’t worry, I just skip that stuff…boring. I don’t rate it bad or anything.
