Happy Rosh Hashanah!

Edited to fix the title. Shoot, someone could’ve told me I forgot a word. Bah!

And other good tidings.

I’ve been trying to post only when I have something interesting about which to post. So far I’ve come up with squat. I’m way too busy hacking and spying to actually read the news, so if it’s not on “The Daily Show” or “The Colbert Report” I don’t know what the hell is going on. I really don’t have enough time to go through my whole blogroll. This freaking spying business is HARD. Have you ever tried it? Shoot, and you try causing a completely innocent computer to just give up and die. You’d be tired, too. After I write this post I’m going out in the woods and casting some spells too. Oh, yes, you’d better believe I’m taking advantage of some moonlight tonight, babybee. Those crickets want to sacrifice their legs.

Anyway, I have my first two tests of the semester next week. I think my only halfway sane prof is my Psychology prof. Good thing, huh? I’m going to ask him about paranoids next week. This evening we briefly discussed schizophrenia as it relates to dopamine production, but didn’t really go into it. I thought it was interesting, but when I got home tonight I thought it was really interesting (I’ll get into an explanation later, or you can go visit Joe’s post that I linked to and read the comments). He also talked about some research he’s doing. He invited us to participate if we want, but won’t give us details until the week before finals. Figures. I’m hoping he’ll let me do my own little experiment for some extra credit (I don’t really have to be ethical if I’m not a psychologist, right?). Did I mention that I really like that class?

I have to do up a basic web page for Web Tech next week. I’m really sweating that one. You think I can do it? :) I actually had to show the prof examples of my work so that he would understand that I know the basic stuff already. He thought I was just being a smart ass before (oops!). Still, he told the class to save their pages to the wrong file name. I didn’t say anything until someone said they couldn’t open theirs in the browser. Duh! What the fuck is up with that anyway? I’m not saying anything else for the rest of the semester, though. Hopefully I won’t have him for any classes next semester. He really annoys the hell out of me.

My math prof doesn’t realize that not everyone loves math. What else can I say? He’s a good guy but is genuinely confused that there really are people that just don’t get it. Also, he used to be a fourth grade math teacher, and you can tell. For instance, he put us in groups to do a couple of really simple problems. Then he did it again just because he wanted to shake up the class. I’m not falling for it next time. I like my seat, dammit, and I’m not moving.

Now, I’ve invited Bickerfest (see Response to a Response) to come answer my arguments here, but he refuses. He’s blowing up Joe’s comment box with some pretty crazy shit. Honestly, if you want to see some hilarity you should just go over and visit there. Apparently, I have some super-secret EVUL abilities to hack into Joe’s website and deposit cookies on dude’s computer. All because he speaks out against Bush/Cheney. Not only that, but I can hack into Google and mess with his groups. I don’t want to sound unkind at all, but dude got smacked down and completely lost his mind. For real. It’d be sad if it wasn’t so damned comical. I was half feeling bad because that all went down at Joe’s (and honest to the gods, folks, I was being reasonable, but dude just lost his mind where I was concerned), but Joe isn’t really Joe, he’s me (my very own sockpuppet… hee hee) and he/I is/am getting a decent laugh out of it. So, there ya go.

Next week the guys are coming to fit the house with massive satellites. Yay! For now, I’m off to the woods and some naked moon dancing.

Peace, Love and Lollipops, Folks.

I love math — or I used to anyway. I’m not as good at it now. Jeff, OTOH, has never forgotten any math. WTF? Annoying.

The rabbi told us the difference between a psychologist and a philosopher this morning. A psychologist will point her finger at a problem and go, aha, I want to solve that. A philosopher will point her finger at a problem and go, wow, fingers are really interesting, aren’t they?

Hey! I should write a parody of our Rosh Hashanah service and severely mock this one guy who … nah, maybe not. ;)
I’m not really understanding Bickerfest’s contention that this latest kerfuffle has anything to do with Bush/Cheney. You, me, Joe, O’Tim, Raejane, et al, all dislike the current administration. Maybe I skimmed over it too quickly. ~confused~

Yeah, I thought I was anti-Bush, but what the hell do I know?

I know what you mean about the class starting too slowly. I still needed a Fine Arts credit and couldn’t take a Lab class because of all the Theater and Photography classes, so I’m taking Early Music Appreciation (up to Beethoven). So far it’s been pitch, meter, beat, all that obvious shit. Bring on the Baroque.

Meanwhile, Analytical Writing is forcing me to write about poetry. Talk about your uncharted territory.

My algebra teacher was great, He was a Russian guy who ALWAYS wore these huge sweaters and had the quirkiest sense of humor. He once did a few minutes about the difference between Algebra and Al Jazeera. Evidently, Algebra is more benign.

And yes, Barrel of Monkeys aside, bickerfest’s even more fun than Hot Wheels.

Finally we’ve got some cooler evenings down here, and Humberto brought some much-needed rain. (I talk about the weather when there is absolutely nothing else to talk about).

      Well it’s marvelous night for a moondance…
