Apparently, Barak Obama mentioned in a speech that he had not been planning on running for President. So, Hillary’s people decided to dig up proof that he has indeed been planning it. As a matter of fact, he was planning it in kindergarten. From her campaign website:
In third grade, Senator Obama wrote an essay titled ‘I Want To Be a President.’ His third grade teacher: Fermina Katarina Sinaga "asked her class to write an essay titled ‘My dream: What I want to be in the future.’ Senator Obama wrote ‘I want to be a President,’ she said." [The Los Angeles Times, 3/15/07]
In kindergarten, Senator Obama wrote an essay titled ‘I Want to Become President.’ "Iis Darmawan, 63, Senator Obama’s kindergarten teacher, remembers him as an exceptionally tall and curly haired child who quickly picked up the local language and had sharp math skills. He wrote an essay titled, ‘I Want To Become President,’ the teacher said." [AP, 1/25/07 ]
Wow! How dare Obama put out such a horrendous lie! He should be smacked for that nonsense. What a liar he is!
Barak’s Kindergarten Essay
This is from a list of 5 quote instances of proof that Obama was thinking about running for President before he actually announced. Can you imagine? I mean, personally when I make huge decisions like running for the highest office in the land I never plan ahead. Doesn’t make any sense. Instead I get an idea and POOF! it happens. Just like that.
Clinton is no better than the Republicans in her smear campaign, as far as I’m concerned. She should be flinging the mud in the other direction, not toward people in her own party. Yes, she’s got to win a bunch of primaries before she’ll get the nomination (that’s if she’s not already been nominated by a super-secret committee, right?), but she should be winning those primaries by showing the world how much better she is than the current office holder. The people that are most likely to vote for her or any other Democrat are sick and tired of this nastiness and want someone to rise above the muck. No one wants someone who rolls in the muck, drinks the muck, then flings the muck at those ultimately on her side.
I’d also like to note that she’s a huge flippin’ hypocrite. This woman has been planning her strategy since the day she moved into the White House with Bill. There was no other reason for her to go to New York and run for senator there. She lived primarily in Arkansas, for crying out loud, before her move to Washington. But she needed Senate experience and the easiest place for her to get elected was Big Blue New York. Then she set out planning her own run for the presidency. Her voting record and lack of a firm stance on particular issues speaks for themselves.
She’s getting her campaign advice from a Neo-Con mole, there’s no doubt about it. The sad part is that she could get a lot better advice if she listened to the people instead of the suits she surrounds herself. I’m anxiously waiting more missteps so we can finally get to a place where I don’t have to read about Clinton and her damned campaign anymore.
Go, Dennis!
The “essay” says:
When I grow up I want to be: Prezident
because: Mom said I can’t be Batman.

I actually like Hillary as my Senator, but I’ve been concerned about her as a presidential candidate. Unfortunately, she learned long ago that to survive in politics, you need to take the attitude that if an opponent pokes you in the nose, you hit them back, hard, and immediately. If anyone thinks it’s otherwise, look what happened to John Kerry when he tried to ignore those Swift Boat jokers. Did it cost him the presidency? Maybe not, but it didn’t help. Unfortunately, in today’s political climate, nice guys finish last. And Hillary is a VERY savvy political animal.
All that being said, it is too bad that someone’s words get twisted that way. Perhaps Obama hadn’t seriously considered running for President until shortly before he announced his candidacy. Maybe it was part of the “plan” and he jumped in the ring early. But who cares? I still don’t think he’s experienced enough for the job. And that he doesn’t have enough clout in DC to be effective if he were elected. Again, in the real world, if you got no friends in Congress, you ain’t getting anything done. If anything, Hillary has clout, like it or not.
Personally, I still like Edwards, thought the Wife took a quiz to see which candidate’s views are closest to hers and it turned out to be Joe Biden. He interests me and might be worth a closer look come the New York primary.
What an asinine “issue” for them to discuss. Buncha bozos all the way around. Great graphic though, JJ!
For some damned reason I’m not getting email notification of comments and it’s making me MAD!
Anyway…
I don’t like the way that Sen. Clinton is campaigning. The Swiftboat situation was orchestrated by the other side. She’s swiping at our side. I have no plans on voting for Obama, just because I don’t particularly like the way he’s going about things either, but I’m REALLY not going to vote for Clinton because I see her in the same light I see Karl Rove and his ilk. The only difference between them is their party. If she’s going to go on the attack, why not focus her efforts on the other side? We don’t need anyone dividing us anymore. We need to come together. She’s not at all interested in that. Someone needs to tell her that her strategy sucks hard.
Mz Uv,
Amen!
Not being able to vote in the US elections i can safely sit back and just watch because your elections are just so much more entertaining than ours.
It does seem that it is going to be a Democrat next in the White House, the Republicans best shot is Rudy and he seems to be tripping and sliding all over the place. I would guess Clinton see’s Obama as her biggest threat.
Lucy! So glad you could finally get in!
I hate the thought of our elections being the laughingstock of the world. Of course, if our asshat President didn’t already make us the laughingstock of the world, I don’t think anyone would notice.
I don’t know what’s going on over in the Republican corner. I see a lot of pro-Ron Paul. That gives me the willies. And some people I know personally like Giuliani and think he’s the shit. That makes me want to scratch my own eyeballs out. I have to say that I’m not looking forward to any of the top contenders taking office.
Go, Dennis!
That’s hilarious! But I’m disappointed by Barack’s mother. Surely she should have been encouraging her child, not crushing his dreams?
“You know, Barack, this is a wonderful country… a country in which anyone, regardless of race, creed or colour, can grow up to be Batman”.
As for Bill’s Mrs, I’ve heard that Dubya himself sees her as his true heir apparent. How depressing is that?
