Meme: How Big is Your Blego? Jinxified

Chris Schaffer tagged me with this one. So, um, I guess here we go.

The rules:

  1. The person tagged must copy the word and paste the definitions of the word contributed previously by the people who did the meme. Link backs would be nice, but not necessary.
  2. The person tagged must then add her own definition in this format ‘yourname.com’s definition’ and place your link. Being creative with the acronym is encouraged.
  3. Answer the following questions.
  4. tag 5 other people to do the meme.
  5. Questions

    1. Do you know what your blog is really about, and you can write a one-sentence promotional material for it in a flash? If yes, write it here. If no, skip this.

    2. Do you join social networks to promote your blog? If yes, do you hope to find friends in these social networks and in the process get regular readers of your blog? If no, skip this.

    3. Do you or do you plan to join ranking sites that put your blog in competition with others for popularity? If yes, do you or do you plan to monitor your stats regularly? If no, skip this.

    4. Do you tweak your blog often in accordance with the tips you get from blogging guides and gurus? If yes, list the bloggers you visit often to obtain these tips. If no, skip this.

    5. Do you think of your next post even if you have just written a new one? If yes, list your inspirations for posting, and/or some routines that you go through before posting. If no, skip this.

    Blego :1
    (Darkside-Dreamland.com’s definition)

    - n. a protologism combining blog and ego. Used to define the ego of a blog or blogger. Like personal ego, blego may be good or bad.

    Jennyjinx’s Definition:
-n. Blogger that’s so full of self-importance they believe they deserve a special place in the blogging hall of fame and if they don’t get this recognition they will throw “hissy fits”, get their “knickers in a twist” and/or cry many tears in their beer.

    Questions

    1. Do you know what your blog is really about, and you can write a one-sentence promotional material for it in a flash? If yes, write it here. If no, skip this.

      Yes.
Fabulously Jinxed is about whatever slightly insane thoughts Jennyjinx happens to have on any given day.

    2. Do you join social networks to promote your blog? If yes, do you hope to find friends in these social networks and in the process get regular readers of your blog? If no, skip this.

I’ve been known to do so occasionally. I have joined EntreCard, for instance. I hope to find both regular reads for myself as well as regular readers of my own stuff. Afterall, like most bloggers, I am vain.

    3. Do you or do you plan to join ranking sites that put your blog in competition with others for popularity? If yes, do you or do you plan to monitor your stats regularly? If no, skip this.
      Heh.
    4. Do you tweak your blog often in accordance with the tips you get from blogging guides and gurus? If yes, list the bloggers you visit often to obtain these tips. If no, skip this.

The only “guru” I read is Lorelle. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. It really depends on the tip and if it fits my style. I do tweak my blog theme regularly and try new/interesting plugins to make things more interesting for my visitors. However, if the “tip” is don’t curse, too bad. “Edit” comments to make them more coherent? I don’t. Delete unsavory speech from the comment areas? Nyet. Pick a topic and stay on topic? Mwahahaha!!!

    5. Do you think of your next post even if you have just written a new one? If yes, list your inspirations for posting, and/or some routines that you go through before posting. If no, skip this.

Sometimes. And if it happens I usually post again. I don’t have time to wait.
I post when I feel the fire in my blood, when something tickles me, or when I’m just bored. Oh, and sometimes I blog when I want to let other people know that yes, unfortunately, Jinxi is still alive. Can you believe some people don’t like me? It’s true. Sometimes those people inspire me. But only because I get a kick out of watching imploding heads.

Oh, yeah. Routines? Nope. Just fire up the ol’ browser and pound away. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s not. I do make sure the spellchecker is enabled. Can you believe that sometimes I make typos? It’s sad, but factual. I’m not like other bloggers who edit, edit, edit- publish. I’m too impatient. And I want my true voice to come through. My personality makes me different. I like that.

Now, I have to pick 5 folks to tag. Aren’t you happy I got this? I tag:

Miz Uv (of course), Karen, Lis, Jason, AntiBarbie, Nat, and Sydwynd (who’s not really part of EC, but that’s ok)

Have Fun! Don’t forget to let me know when you did it. Ok? Smoochies! P.S. Don’t feel obligated.
    Update:
Miz Uv already has hers up.

Started by Evil Woobie, who defined Blego as:

    - n. an acronym of “blog ego”, which pertains to a blogger’s sense of self in the blogosphere.

    P.S.
If you want to be tagged then let me know and I’ll tag you. I had to limit this stuff, ya know. It’s hard to choose and all that jazz. I figured I’d choose some folks who’d actually do it. :)

Fine. Fine! Bleh. I hate memes too, but I thought this one was kind of fun.

I’ll promptly remove you from my list.

Could you at least write a definition here? That’s all I’m asking. :)

Ok, so I read Jason’s policy. And, yeah, that would so be fun.

    nat,
I wanna see that movie! No, really, I do. Thanks to Lil’lady, I’ve rediscovered my love for all things cute, cuddly, and which squeak when you squeeze too hard.

    Have fun!
